Purpose of the grant:
Aim of current application refers to working on structuring the research topic, methodology and extending the database regarding Evaluation of sustainability goals at European level from a spatial perspective using taxpayers` perception and sentiment analysis. The methodology we already applied referred to the indicators evaluated such as Confidence in EU institutions and Greenhouse gas emissions intensity of energy consumption sourced from the Eurostat database for the selected countries. We also measured people`s trust in their national public institutions and their opinions regarding sustainability aspects on public institutions and measures, their personal values regarding fair principles like transparency, clearer laws, predictability, efficiency in public spending, public services quality and social welfare creation. Premises that we used in the study refer to the fact that individuals’ internal and external motivations are materialized in feelings about a subject that in the end lead to a certain type of action. Whether taxpayers trust in State and the way it spends public money is best revealed in their free speech language when expressing their opinion about it. Considering people`s opinion on public measures helps the State achieve its target of sustainable and interactive governance.
